Readiness for Change

Relative to implementation of a program or practice, readiness is a concept that includes an organization’s willingness (attitudes and motivation) to change, as well as its’ capacities (resources, knowledge, and skills) for ensuring that change can occur as envisioned. In terms of Agency Readiness for Change, active implementation support often considers an agency’s: motivation to deliver an EBP, the fit between an EBP and staff/agency resources and capacities, having dedicated staff to engage in change work, ensuring dedicated staff to run/manage the work, and willingness of staff and leaders to engage in ongoing support, coaching, supervision or other tools to actively ensure fidelity and quality of outcomes.
